Jerry W. McKinney

Jerry W. McKinney, age 73 of Eddyville, died at 11:50 am May 12, 2022 at his home in Lyon County. He was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church, an honorably discharged veteran of the US Marine Corp after 20 years of service, a member of T. L. Jefferson Masonic Lodge #622 in Benton, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 31 in Paducah also serving as the KY State Commander for 2 years, a member American Legion Riders of Post 31, a member of the sons of the American Legion Post 31 in Paducah, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1191 in Paducah, a member of the Elks Post 2707 in Marshall Co., the River City Eagles Club, Marine Corps League Chapter 1390 in Paducah, APA Pool Players Commission in Paducah, lifetime member of the DAV Miles Merideth Chapter #7, a member of the Rizpah Shrine Temple in Madisonville as a 32 degree Mason. Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by one half brother Billy Glass, one half sister Frieda Harper and one step brother Kenneth Whitney. His parents were Aaron and Magdeline Jones Whitney. Survivors include his wife Cindy D. Sturm McKinney of Eddyville, two sons Aaron J. McKinney, Jason E. McKinney of Eddyville, one daughter Dachell Pendergrass of Springfield, MO, four step sons Leon Warner of W. Virginia, Rickie Thompson of Colorado, Dane Thompson of Springfield, MO, Shane Thompson of Springfield, MO and two step daughters Jeanie Marie Sturm of Eddyville and Tanya Thompson of Springfield, MO. Also surviving is one brother Terry McKinney of Katy, TX, two half brothers Lloyd Glass of Calvert City, Floyd Glass of Gallian, AL, three step brothers Wayne Whitney of Minnesota, Jimmy Whitney of Princeton and Gary Whitney of Owensboro. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time where we will begin with Military rites followed by Masonic Rites then the Memorial Service.
